Bart Jansen

Fifteen years of shipping software, from ExtJS intranets to peer-to-peer video and a master's thesis on the quality of experience of WebRTC. This page is not a static résumé — it is a rigid-body simulation. Grab a letter. Throw it.

Who is doing the typing

Over fifteen years of programming experience combined with a master's degree in Electrical Engineering. I like the parts of the stack where the abstraction leaks — real-time media, rendering loops, numerical stability, the last 5 ms.

Have a look at the résumé below and don't hesitate to get in touch.

About this page

No animation library. The letters, the chips and the debris are driven by a 2D rigid-body engine written for this site: spatial-hash broadphase, SAT narrowphase with face clipping, sequential impulses with warm starting, split-impulse position correction and island-based sleeping.

Fancy something louder? World 1-1 is this page as a scrolling pixel platformer — the scrollbar is the level, and the CV is the terrain. Sunday Island is the cartoon game version — run a little version of me around a toon-shaded island where every project, job and skill is a thing you can knock over. THE YARD is the moodier take: the same physics engine, a hand-written WebGL2 renderer, and a CV made of concrete. And if you're curious about the archaeology, the 2016 site and the Famo.us experiment are still standing.
